Beauty of the Month - Anna Przy

March 2025

How did you discover Beyond Beauty Project?

I was a guest on the podcast and I was immediately so comfortable with Bridgett. I felt understood and heard and I'm so excited about what BBP is putting out in the world!

How did you break out of the box of perfectionism?

I think it is possible I broke almost all of my boxes! I joke that in 2020 my entire life was a glass box and it shattered, and I realized I didn't really want to pick up the pieces. I broke out of the box of having to have the perfect body when I truly began to believe that my body was the VERY LEAST interesting thing about me. I broke out of the box of believing if I checked all of the boxes (degree, job, car, home, marriage) that I would be happy and made up my own checklist with just one box, "are you happy?" I broke out of the box of limiting myself to what was comfortable and decided I could bet on me, and believe in me, and trust that I could make my own life that fit me. I broke out of the box of overworking and prioritized BALANCE. I broke out of the box of conformity and really embraced being exactly who I am, no matter who sees me doing it, and above all else I broke out of the box of believing my worth was directly tied to my productivity.

What advice would you give your younger self about the pressure to be perfect?

I always get tripped up when somebody asks me to offer any advice to my younger self, because she was SO deeply engrained in checking every box that society laid out for her. If I was actually able to go back in time and try to talk to her, there would not be anything I could say that would get through to her. So for me, I would say - this is how it has to happen, but you're going to get there. If I was talking to somebody ELSE - I would remind them that you can change your mind every single day, that there is no shame in taking the easier route, and that there IS a room with a you shaped hole in it and you will find it but it may take time.

How has your perception of success changed over the years?

My perception of both beauty and success have changed immensely. I have stopped measuring my success against my pant size, bank balance and title at work and redefined success as - successfully taking care of me. Successfully putting myself first, successfully being kind to myself. Successfully setting boundaries to protect my peace. When it comes to beauty - I'm so enamored with people experiencing joy. There is nothing more beautiful to me than somebody truly full belly laughing, enjoying a moment, being right where you are and not worrying about how the world perceives you.

What helps you live authentically?

The realization that being authentic takes so much less energy than trying to be somebody I am not. When I live authentically as myself and approach the world unmasked I don't have to TRY so hard.

How do you practice self-love?

Remind myself that mistakes are a part of life, set boundaries with my time and don't force myself into spaces I feel uncomfortable, spend time doing nothing to give my nervous system a minute to rest, I walk away from things when they are starting to dig into my self worth - like social media. And I write about it - I write every day about where I am at, how I am feeling and where is that coming from. I try to listen.. to myself.

What are ways you honor your body?

SLEEP. I never used to prioritize rest - I thought there was a glory in burning yourself into the ground. I honor my body and apologize for the way I used to beat it up by going nonstop by allowing it to rest. Listening to my body when it is screaming that it is exhausted and instead of reaching for the second cup of coffee - actually resting.

About Anna

Hi, I'm Anna Przy (Prizz)! You might know me as the "vacuum lady" or the "robe lady," but really, I'm all about being relatable and authentic with catchphrases my community loves. When the pandemic turned my life upside down, I decided to leave behind my workaholic ways and search for a life that fits like my favorite sweater. I walked away from stability to document my journey online, making you laugh while reminding you that you are enough just as you are.

Navigating this overwhelming and demanding world isn't always easy, but I do it with humor and heart. My mission? To remind everyone to take a break, laugh at themselves, and prioritize their well-being.
